Try, Want, Need need need……..*

You’re all I need,

strap myself in

ready for that shot

in the dark.

abandoned

back room

brick and mortar

ruin,

soon becomes

my castle

in the clouds, where

draw bridge falls

euphoria’s gates

open wide

I float inside,

leave

realities of

life’s pain

behind,

I nod Out,

my Need

wakes me,

now all I care

about now.

*Footnote:

Behind every addiction lays a reason for the onset of use. Sometimes it’s just for fun (a thrill) it’s prescribed (opioids) or just an escape from what’s hidden deeper within (self medicate) depression, stress, fear. Drug addiction encompasses all sectors of our society (it doesn’t discriminate). I’ve attached some informative links, for those who want more information, to help someone or you need help. The song is by Velvet Underground, may artists have been outspoken about their addictions. 🌎✌🏻❤️

Rumors

mouths pass whispered lies

ears barely distinguish truth

tongues spread like wild fire

hate conceived by jealousy

destruction meant hurt for one

Human Touch

Hold me in your arms

with understanding

in your heart.

Brush away my tears

with gentle finger tips.

Whisper in my ear

the things I long to hear.

That I will be fine today,

tomorrow is a new day,

this is all I needed.

Release

She sits, contemplates,

lost within thoughts,

that should no longer

crowd her.

Yet she feels pressure,

that binds her mind,

as she struggles,

too let go of the blue

that colors her day.

It gathers within her,

a coming storm,

she feels it,

pushing

to the

surface,

running for shelter.

She steps past frosted glass,

water runs warm,

she

seeks to remove

this chill within her.

She presses palms

against cold tiles,

let’s her tears

run

as

rain

there

she

releases

her

scream.

So none may hear

the sound of her

releasing

pain.
